Just so you know, they changed the way Blogspot is for the person typing, so they are not letting me put spaces when I hit enter.. I am going to try to figure out how I can change it back.... I put a video on Sportsmanship on the blog. This is what we studied in our Eagle Training this week. Today we did a practice test in Math, and watched a video giving us some ideas for Science Fair Projects. Today we had a fire drill in the morning. We also spent some time in the computer lab doing research on our Revolutionary War project. Tomorrow we will be wathcing the movie Bridge To Terabithia. We finished the book in class, and got our tenth e-ticket so we can celebrate! Kids can bring a snack for themselves if they want. We also have 11 am dismissal tomorrow. Homework: Math: if you are behind, it is a catch up night. You need to be done with 7-13 and 7-14 Lang Arts: make sure you are done with your essay introduction rough draft. Opera For The Young

Today in 1775 was Paul Revere's famous ride to warn the colonists that the British were coming. This led to tomorrow in history in 1775 the "Shot Heard Round the World" in Lexington that was the first battle of the revolution. It is cool that we are studying this now, and that it happened today!!!

We had Opera For the Young today-is was fun-ask you kids abuot it.

Today we had our 6 speech finalists give their speeches in front of Mrs. Lor, Mrs. Durham, and Mrs. Eickelberg. They all did wonderfully! The top two speeches were Sierra Gyrion's and Bella Garvey's. All 6 of the finalists will receive awards at our 5th grade graduation in June.

Homework:

Math: finish homework and remembering 7.11 if you did not finish.

Happy birthday Tyler! thanks for the birthday snack-we've had two birthdays and two snacks two days in a row-yum!!!

Today we had an all-school PBIS assembly. Thanks to Asher for helping me lead the school song! There was also a skit called "One" put on by some of the teachers. Ask your child what it was about. I am going to also embed a you tube video of the same book onto the blog.

We got the 5th grade t-shirts today! I am sending home a slip in case you were financially unable to buy one. We have a few donated shirts, so I will draw a name from the notes returned tomorrow.

Happy golden birthday to Hannah! Today we had a special treat for her birthday in the form of speakers from India! We had written penpal letters earlier in the year to students in India, and the administrator from their school is in the United States with a friend through the Rotary Club. They gave a great presentation with pictures and stories about their country. The kids learned a lot. Schooling over there is very different-they go 300 days a year including weekends. They also start school at age 2 and a half. They get about three hours of homework each night. No more complaining about my homework!!!!

Too Late to Apologize-a Declaration

Today we got through most of our speeches! We will finish up tomorrow and I will announce the two finalists on Thursday. The final competition will be next Tuesday around 1pm.

We also started to learn about the Revolutionary War today. We will be spending the rest of April on this topic.

Homework:

Lang Arts; if your speech is tomorrow, prepare and make sure all of your papers are done.

Today we talked about the fun we had over spring break! The class got a great report from the sub I had to have on the half day Friday-I unexpectedly got a kidney stone Thursday night! It was nice to know they behaved!!!!
