I had a lot of kids that didn't have their Science microscope worksheet done this morning. I had many excuses again-forgot it at home, forgot it at school, had church etc.... The worksheet would have taken 5 minutes to do....Please make sure your child does their homework and puts it back in their backpack. Oct. 1st

Happy Birthday Isaiah!!!!

Today we had a lot happening. We took our first Math test-I will send those home soon to be signed. Then we had a special computer time with Mr. Staehler where he taught us more about Powerpoint so we can use it to do a slide show on cells later on. Finally, we had a fire drill. The class was quiet as we walked out of the building. I appreciate it.

Homework:

Reading: Finish the reading for today on your calendar and write a summary and a connection from text to self. (We had about 15 minutes work time for this in class today).

Writing: Finish your personal narrative (story that has happened to you). We have had class time to work on this. The rough draft needs to be done for tomorrow so we can start peer editing. Please look at your child's personal narrative-and sign it so I know you saw it. You do not need to make corrections.

Spelling: Study

Science: Fill in microscope worksheet.

Other:
Fundraiser money due tomorrow.

Book It starts in October!!!!

Book-It is a program that is run by Pizza Hut. It goes from Oct.-March. This is how I run it:

1. Your child reads any chapter book during the month-it can be a book they read at school in silent reading, or at home.

2. Your child writes a letter to the author of that book using the correct letter format (Date, Greeting, Body, Closing). In this letter your child may tell the author what they enjoyed about the book, what they didn’t enjoy, questions they have about the book, or questions they have about the author’s personal life.

3. Your child will hand in the letter to me by the last day of the month. I will send the letter to the author, and give your child a coupon for a free personal pizza (It expires one month from when I write it out).

Your child does not have to do this, it is just for fun. I will try and remind kids about it, but mostly it is up to them to do it and hand it in.
