I got rid of the incentive cards today. Most kids do not have any problem with them, but some kids who are getting 5 or more initials are then just giving up on behavior because they figure they already lost the incentive. Now I will just be giving out detentions for disrespectful or unsafe behavior. Smaller things like talking will have 2 warnings before the detention. After 3 or more detentions, an in school suspension will be given, and after that an out of school suspension.
Tomorrow is a special Pajama dress up day. Wear pajamas, bring slippers, a blanket and pillow :) In the afternoon we will be watching the movie The Polar Express with our kindergarten pals. If a student cannot behave tomorrow morning, they might miss out on this fun activity.
Homework:
Social Studies; TFK worksheet if it wasn't turned in yesterday
Spelling: We will give tests tomorrow-you have an extra night to study.
Math: homework 3.5 only
Other:
50 cents for hot chocolate-I have gotten this from about half of the class.
Gift exchange-gift due Monday!!!!

Today we learned a bit about the attack on Pearl Harbor because it is Pearl Harbor Day. We also had our November incentive....a week late :) Most of the initials this month were given for blurting out and talking when you are not supposed to and missing work.
